Independent inspection of firearms licensing

I received the same response from our MP, word for word, apart from the signature.
Likewise I didn't vote for him.
I'm guessing as they get the same proforma letter from the public about any issue, they're just playing the same game.

The info is the same anyway. No need for a specific response.

Except that the point of writing to an MP is that the MP becomes aware of their constituent’s view of the matter, not that their staff copies and pastes a standard response from the relevant ministry.

In my opinion the best solution is a single (GB) licensing service akin to HM Passport Office or DVLA
Said it before on other threads - Lady FB was a Regional Manager in the UKPA and an FAC holder - I once asked her if her outfit could take on firearms licensing across the entire UK - she laughed and said “yep, without even breaking stride…”

Whilst there are numerous aspects of firearms legislation that require changing one that I believe would really help drive consistency and promote fair practice would be for challenges against any licensing decisions to be heard in the Magistrates Court, with recourse to the Crown Court if relevant, and it being mandatory that any Chief Constable found against to be liable for all costs.
A reason for many challenges not happening is down to cost.
