Ineos Grenadier halts production

Rake Aboot, My friend has one and I have been in it quite a bit, including long journeys. It is not quite as refined as a Range Rover on the road, but still very comfortable. It goes like sh*t off a shovel. It does make you feel "special". It has been bullet proof, and feels like it will still be there in 40 years from now. Expensive, yes. But compare it to other vehicles of similar specification. The only negative is the turning circle, but if you gave me one I could live with it !

my thoughts on mine are pretty much what everyone else is saying. yes the turning circle is bad, yes it is not refined (but I actually like that). its massive on the inside compared to other similar 4x4s I have owned.

I like it because it has loads of character.

I had one on ‘long term’ test with a view to buying, really didn’t like it and it’s waaay to much money, Defender knocks spots off it

Ineos had a post on Facebook recently of a Grenadier there taking there were entering into a rally. It was on a trailer being pulled by a ....... Porsche Cayenne!!! I thought, that's great advertising for your company!!

I had one pass me yesterday on the m6 i was doing 70 he was doing a great deal more 4cab pickup i wonder what mpg he was getting

I like the look and concept, but the right hand drive version has a very restricted driver footwell that my size 12’s could not live with.

If Toyota sold the new version of their big land cruiser over here I think it would sell better than inios.

If it’s like my X5 probably 30 or so

Surprising how frugal that 3ltr twin turbo is .

As a kid in Africa, I clearly remember the switch.

Up to about 1985-86, over half the vehicles you saw in remote areas, national parks etc were Landrovers. By 1990-91, that had completely collapsed to less than 1 in 10. By 2000, you only saw them sitting dead in the back of sheds, or being kept on as a hobby vehicle for old time’s sake.

I don’t remember seeing a single one, in any form, in the Kalahari after about 2007. People would sooner use a 2WD Mitsubishi, a Great Wall or a Mahindra than a Landrover.

Yep.

I just love the 'romance' of the things.

Unknown-1.webp

That said. If the PH did rock up with a Landrover, I am not sure I would enjoy the 'relaxing' Safari one hopes for (or expects) when you see the Toyota.
