Interesting roe malform

Great pictures Willi, had this one two yrs back but the extra bit coming out the front. Left a buck in his area a few years before that had snapped his left antler in velvet and had grown sideways. Don’t know wether it’s the same buck but could be.

Interesting one! What are your plans for him? Looks to be an older buck, so is he a candidate?

Had an interesting one myself last year. No sign of injury, and body condition was superb.

Apologies, only just seen this. That does look like a similar type of malformation.

The buck is on a track near the village, so not on ground where have the stalking rights. From my perspective I'll just be following his progress with the camera, hopefully up to and including during the rut. There is a stalker who comes up from Wales to control the deer, so it may be the buck gets taken before then, but we'll just have to see. There are more roe in the area, so if he does get shot there will doubtless be others to migrate in.

That really is quite some headgear!
