I run a small syndicate near to Llansannan. We are a walked up shoot and beat for ourselves. If anyone wants to come and beat or observe on a Saturday or two as an introduction to game shooting please PM me. We are a working men’s shoot and so there is no budget to pay for beating, but between us we do provide lunch, drinks and the opportunity to shoot on Beaters’ Day. There is no expectation of commitment, I’m just trying to give people a leg up if they need it.

Our one and only beater to survive the entire season on these hills was entitled to Beater’s Day today. Formerly Beaters’ Day but given the second best attendance was my eight year old, there was a concerted effort to get our beater under some birds. He is only 19 and has never been on a game...
