Is anyone using fox lead free bullets

Is anyone using the fox lead free? Parricularly In 6.5x55. Tempted to try some but worried about expansion on roe and smaller fallow
Iv just bought the 123g to try in my tikka 6.5x55 will be using lapua brass but not decided what powder to use yet with them

i use fox bullet 139gr 6.5x55 and i use vihtavuori 150n but try with 36.5gr think it will fitt good to 123gr

A few days ago I had a chance to test Fox 123 gr 6.5×55 on a yearling red deer, live weight of about 45 kg. Chest shot through the heart, bullet exited behind the shoulder, little damage to venison and the deer only ran about 15 m before collapsing. Excellent performance I'd say.

Any one using them in 30-06 be good to know what powder etc. Looking at 150 grain bullets.
Tusker

So what are they made of? I see they only have 80gn in .243 - I'm thinking it will be difficult to get it to 1700 ft/lbs?

123gr Fox in 6.5x55, COL 75.08mm, nodes, at 2875 -40.5grn N150, and at 2700 41.7 grn N550 or 44.1grn RS62. there is another at 2575 but not pursued as not a very usable range. 600mm barrel 1 in 8.3 twist. This works for me but work up to it in yours. Peregrine 118 grn VLR4, COL 75.5 mm, also has a node around 2890 mark 44.3 grn N550 or 42 grn N150, not completed as restock is stuck in Amsterdam -the customs there are under the impression that a bullet is a loaded cartridge!!

I have picked a box of the 123gr Fox factory loaded.. I am shooting a Tikka T3x 6.5x55. For me they don't group very well at all there tight in the breach i think they don't resize the brass before loading. PPU brass nothing special and i paid £48.60 a box. Not for me but give them a go they may work for you.

Sorry to hear that
The 123gr is usually significantly under an inch out of a Tikka, mostly touching holes from the targets sent to us by customers and our own tests.

The brass is body sized to uniform them but Tikka and Sako have notoriously tight chambers at the lower end of CIP spec (a good thing)
PPU are at the upper end.

I recall having tight chambering on a .308 Tikka T3 varmint and Privi factory ammunition but shot well.

My current .308 hates privi brass full stop. It’s a Tooley chambered Bartlein barrel.

The load on the right is my home load the one on the left is a factory load by Fox 123gr.
Im no expert but isent the primer supposed to sit flush...

The primer should indeed be seated (at least) flush, or even a thou' or so lower.

It should not sit "proud".

Are all the rounds the same, or is it just the one?
