Is there a topic that is safe from the doomsayers?

The title says it all.

I belong to a number of Internet forums and I often think they operate like a busy pub. There's a cross section of people from different walks of life and you get the know it alls, the pseuds, the wannabes and fortunately the knowledgeable, the interesting and the genuinely helpful. You learn to ignore the hubbub and focus in on those worth listening to.
This seems to be true whether one is interested in Stalking, Orchids, Classic Cars, Opera, Football or anything else. Just my personal view.

There is nothing posted recently that some members can't help but put a negative spin on. From stalking to sales listings! With the sport as difficult as it is at the moment I'm up for anything that improves it.

I believe it's particularly bad on SD where the rudeness can be overwhelming. In contrast, take a look at the U.S. shooting forums. The contributers there are unfailingly polite and very self-effacing. Maybe their standard of education is higher as the standard of literacy certainly is.

Please forget that as it's a deliberate example of the sort of remark which is made. :suss:
It's generally provocative, and would hurt feelings if addressed to an individual. :stir:

I think it's a stupid topic to post, and that long range head shooting with small calibres and Amax is the business :stir:

Complete tosh and unsafe too boot :banghead:

45/70 or 45/110 in a sharps rifle is the only way to shoot up into trees :D

ah but the point of head shooting is to minimise meat damage, and prove your macho status, using either of those calibres there won't be any squirrel left to determine if it was in fact headshot.....
