I was using a rope. This doesn’t dig into my shoulders, lets the deer roll as you go down hill and has lots of different options so you can vary the muscles used when you get tired. Today I was only going 50m so used the handle with no drag straps. As an aside the ‘two man’ pull mode allows my children to help drag (10 and 12) both of whom have started coming out. I’m stalking roe in East Lothian but this would be useful anywhere.

Having sadly had to drag a lump of a fallow out of an SSI a couple of months ago rather than driving to it, using the quad or winching the damm thing out, I tried my Scotland snout wrap pull but struggled on the uneven terrain with it coming off every time it rolled. Having seen these in action, I too bought one from Monarch Yet to use it in anger - is it a bit like a generator - when you buy one, all power cuts stop
