Just getting into deer shooting

Great forum. I am in Kent and am getting into deer shooting mainly because I am lucky enough to have a bit of woodland that I coppice for timber and get quite allot of deer damage. Just got my ticket for a .243. Been shooting 0.22 rimfire for 30 years. I am bound to have a load of questions, so thanks to those of you who will be able to offer advice!
