Landig or Screwfix hoist?

The screwfix one will be fine.
I expect they're all made in the same Chinese factory anyway, just labelled differently.
My larder hoist is just a generic one similar to the scewfix model, and it's great. Wouldn't be without it now.

The Screwfix one is fine for Sika but I can't say for Reds, Doesn't need a double fall either as it's fine with a single fall

Srewfix offer a hoist which looks to be very similar to the Landig one (but cheaper), well the obvious question is: does anyone have experience with both, or at least with the Screwfix one?

My use will be for Reds & Sika for personal consumption, not ‘industrial’.

Electric Winch - Game Larder
The weak point is what you have it on and the span, mine is on an Acrow Prop so I made brackets to go around it and used the same M10 bolts.
I also have a hook for my scales on the same bar (very close) that way they can be weighed with very little fuss for reference.
It is like the screwfix one.

Why did you wait 40 years? £5.00 a week you could buy 1:rolleyes:
No idea, Tim.
Just never occurred to me, I guess.
I had my grandfather's old block and tackle, complete with hemp rope, and that always sufficed for the heavy ones. Or the front end loader for cattle. But for sheep it was always just 2-4-6 and lift.
Not until I started processing carcasses in larger numbers (ie, when I started stalking) did I see fit to invest in mechanisation, prompted partly by a health problem that's now steadily eroding my physical strength.

I used a Screwfix-type hoist when I built my house to lift a wheelbarrow full of muck up through the scaffolding, works a dream, no problems. I think mine was £39.99 at the time, 19 years ago. Sold it to a diy mechanic for his little workshop, and it's still going strong.

I have had my winch for years, It was bought to lift my Kayak onto my van roof in the garage but then I moved house 15yr ago and it lay out of sight in my garage for years until I came across it lately.
Brainwave I thought I'll put that winch up since I'm struggling the older I get and ongoing health problem to make life easier rather than pulling on ropes :D

I got the landig hoist along with my lu10000 in 2016/17 can't exactly remember, it's a good robust reliable unit which as others have mentioned are truly indispensable when handling heavy carcasses.

But as others have also mentioned you can get cheaper units which are exactly the same for much less.

I was about to recommend Parkside too! I run 3 winches in my garage, 2 associated with carcass handling (one fixed for skinning and the other on a rail trolley system for picking up carcasses at the door and moving them to the chiller or skinning system), and the third (original) for lifting stuff into the attic above the garage. Never paid more than £40 for any of them from Lidl/Aldi and eBay, and they have all provided many years of excellent service.

Save your back (and sanity)!

Try northern tools. Same design..used mine to winch RSJ up a scaffold but it lives in my workshop for fallow with no probs.just out a clean plastic bag over the controller each time to keep it clean .

Parkside lidl one 50 quid couple yrs back does 95kg red no bother

Same winch looks to me

Paul
Exactly the same one I bought years ago, never had any issues with reds

Only issue I have sometimes is transfer along the bar into the Landig chiller, whole thing moves, but I only rarely put reds in there as most go to game dealer
