Leupold scopes

Hi

I always say, let your eyes tell you if they suit each other, the rest is a comforting bonus.........
Others opinions (in my opinion) are not what your eyes will see through them.

I have used and fitted a lot of scopes, the vx5 is probably the easiest to fit, great eye relief, using the cds is simple with consistent return to zero, regarding comparison to European scopes, swaro are living on there past reputation, zeiss new when to get out of the market.
The latest Burris signature are good, there drop tine has to short a tube, you struggle to fit unless a rail is fitted, my only other choice would be GPO, value for money, fighting way above there weight. OMO.

I have a few Leopold Scopes . They are overpriced by Viking Arms in the UK , I would buy more but not new in the uk , instead i would buy when next in the USA . This is why your not seeing the brand in good stock in the gun shops .

Very good warranty back up as well.

I had an issue with one once and sent it back (took a while due to US export issues) and it was returned fully serviced with all the lenses replaced - none of which were the problem. No charge for it at all and no issue with me not being the original owner or even knowing when it was first bought.
Hi andy
My VXiii was sent to a Leupold service centre in Germany back when GMK were the importer. Made for a quick turnaround.

My VXiii have horrible eye relief change when going from min to max magnification.

Have a few Leupold items and highly rate them, dont use anything else.

MK5 HD 7-35x56 with a PR2-MIL reticle. Absolutely bomb proof and tracks superbly.

MK4 12-40x60 spotting scope with the Mil Dot reticle which is tried and tested and still used my military world wide today. Great glass on that.

MK4 tactical 10x50 binos (the coyote brown ones) again fantastic glass and bomb proof.

You can certainly buy with confidence when you buy Leupold

I am also a bit of a Leupold fan boy, at least to a point. The new Mark 4hd line are fantastic but the price in the uk is off putting. The 5 and 6 lineup are great. I still regret moving on my vx6. Currently run a Mark4hd 2.5 10x42 on my .22 lr and a few vx3s on some airguns. Leupold isnt Schmidt &Bender but some of the lineup is 90% of the way there and their warranty is fantastic. Having said all this i have a polar 2.5 10x50 on my deer rifle as it is better than any Leupold for low light shooting. If you are being offered the scope at a decent price I say go for it... if you dont like it I am sure you can move it on again no problem.

It doesn’t matter if you are first or the Tenth owner, if it brakes they will fix it or replace it free. Sent them a 2x7 that the windage gave up on, don’t know where I got it, they returned a new 3x9.

I have a Mk4 Tactical on my .223 target rifle. Its 25+ years old. Still tracks perfectly. Optimally not quite as good as my Diavari but it's not used in v low light. Eye box fussy yes but mines on a AICS so it's spot on for target/long range plinking.
There were a lot of counterfeit scopes so be careful when you buy one.
Overall bomb proof with very good glass so highly recommend.

I have this scope and got it at a good price and has never let me down, holds zero, nice glass to my eye and handles all the crawling through hedges etc .
I think the Swaro’s & Zeiss will give you an extra 5 or 10 mins at low light but for what I got it for and what I’ve put on the ground I’m happy with it.
If I swap it out it will be for HK Alpex Pro but for now it’s staying put .

I’ve had most scope brands in my time, I’ve used all the top 5 and owned 4, their all good in their own right with a pretty much bomb proof warranty.

Any one will be a good buy
