Thanks, they seem to be getting more prolific here. I live in the last area in England to get deer ! Fallow are really getting going and I saw a muntjac tonight in the same area.
We have fallow, roe & muntjac all in the same woods & fields. The muntjac just seem to get on & do their thing without too much notice of the fallow. Interestingly the roe will tolerate fallow in ones & twos & not uncommon to see them feeding on field margins together, but any more fallow & the roe move on.
A good exercise is to sit out with your thermal and quietly watch them in pitch black conditions, they do seem to be in control of the space around them and don’t take too much notice of each other as different species, that might change when the rut is on though
