Hello all and as my title suggests, I have been looking in from the 'outside' at this site for a few years now and have gleaned some useful knowledge along the way. I thought it was about time, therefore, that I entered the fray as a fully-fledged member, not least so that I could respond to other members seeking information or advice. I began shooting using air rifles (BSA, Weihrauch, Feinwerkbau) many decades ago at the age of 16 and finally made the transition to .22LR rimfire (Weihrauch and Anschutz) 12 years ago. I now have aspirations to progress to centrefire calibres, albeit nothing too large initially, with this mainly stemming from an imminent need to control an ever-growing Muntjac population in a small woodland belonging to a relative. I am a resident of West Yorkshire but these days, all my shooting is done down in Shropshire on private land.
I'm a staunch traditionalist when it comes to rifles; still preferring wood and bued steel (for the time being, at least!), to the new-fangled, 'meccano-kit' and carbon-composite concoctions now available!
