I am after a Foxing rifle setup in .223 to keep down running costs and for quietness. For Deer I can go with someone else. Of course there will be varying opinions but this is what I plan to put together. I am looking to buy a used Tikka Tx3 Lite .223 with or without a stock. I am going to fit a MDT Chassis stock XRS FDE with a full length Arca rail to Mount direct to Arca on The Rekon tripod and also to mount the MDT GRND-POD Bipod. I am also seeking one of the quietest moderator available due to my permission locations. The risk of buying the .223 Rifle long distance through RFD is the barrel condition. Not everyone is 100% honest on their cleaning regime / shot count and of course I can't bore scope it. Most will be up front with usage of course. I am still looking to buy all of the above in used condition and I would welcome your experience / views on all of my above setup. It's a lot to think about 🤔

In addition to the above post - Does this sound like a sound setup for longer range Foxing, as on a lot of my permissions Foxes need to be taken at range, as IR shy as others use IR on neighbouring farms  Mainly ambush shooting.

You say longer range foxing. Let’s be honest 300 yards at night is a long way.

I use a .223 Tikka T3 53gr V-max at 3300fps and a pard night stalker with onboard VCSEL illuminator. It works perfectly having taken foxes to this range. My father uses the same setup but in 22-250 uses 10gr more powder and 250fps faster. It is of course louder.

I have no experience with the stock you mention but understand reports are good. Buying anything secondhand is a risk. However look for a regular poster in here because people do value reputation. My .223 was bought from a regular and the accuracy is exceptional.
