Making a rifle into a "long range rifle" and tips for a long range beginner

I have 2 Tikka’s for a few years, I. 6.5cm and 223 rem.
The trigger are sound, but buy a reduced tension trigger spring.
You’ll still get a crisp repeatable break every time.
“thatgunbloke” for Aus has the better springs in my opinion, I’ve tried a US branded and UK version.

What I would do is sell the rifle and get a 6.5x55.

But if you elect to keep the Creedmoor, get some good reloading equipment and get the best brass you can find. I like Lapua brass in 6.5x55 and Lapua probably makes brass for that other caliber.

Lapua makes some wonderful 6.5mm bullets and I would load some Scenar bullets. H-4350 powder works fantastically in the 6.5x55 mm and I understand that it also works well in other 6.5s.

I would also buy the very best scope you can afford. You need a scope that offers 100 percent repeatability. When you move the dial it must adjust the point of impact the same amount each and every time. You also need the best scope rings and mounts that you can afford.

The only thing more frustrating than a faithless woman is an untrustworthy scope and mount.
