Sad to go too soon. Spent my formative years in Manchester listening to the Stone Roses et all. His mam was from Athy as was one of Johnny Marrs parents ( and my grand parents- sadly my musical skills are limited).

A couple of my mates met him in a pub in Camden 20 odd years ago and had a few pints with him, a gent by all accounts.

I remember seeing Ian Brown in Altrincham regularly when I was on the way home from school too.
