Mauser 25

The gun is going to be released in 2 weeks. According to my "secret source" :) it should be a straight pull rifle without exchangeable barrel option. Pricetag arround €2000.

It is just a rumour, but releasing such gun makes sense to me. Mauser is part of Blaser group and they do not have direct competitor in lower end straight-pull rifle segment. All the market is taken by Beretta, Savage, Haenel and Steel Action.
If the info is true, let's hope for an another great price/performance gun as M18 is.

Interesting you mention Steel Action, one of my good friends is just setting up as the exclusive U.K. distributor and hopefully the U.K. market will take them onboard - they are really great rifles, essentially mixing the rigidity of turn bolts with straight action pull, so for keeping very sturdy whilst shooting/reloadinf, and having the accuracy of a turn bolt, this is in my view a no brainer for both the driven market, foxing market, and indeed the target shooters alike

My friend has one. It is a robust and accurate rifle. Might feel a little bit heavy for someone (3,6 kg with wooden stock). Also the prices are reasonable for what you get. The cheapest Merkel Helix in plastic is nearly €500 more.

Out of interest - what ‘target’ shooting’ disciplines are you thinking it’s an attractive prospect for?

Any, both long range and gallery.

Turn bolt solidity matched with straight pull, about the ultimate design for quick shooting and reloading a round without torquing the rifle whilst lifting a bolt, meaning you retain your sight picture and shooting position

Steel action in 308W:
Nice rifles.
Nice price.
Heavy.
Integrated picatinny.
Large palm swell, larger then Sako and S&L.
A bit 'soft' trigger pull.
'Heavy' straight pull mechanism compared to Blaser R93 and Mauser M25.
