Mauser - exceptional customer service

On a couple of occasions at the very end of the season, my Mauser MO3 failed to extract a 6.5x55 round from the breech. In the heat of the moment after stalking and shooting deer, whilst making safe before the gralloch I had this issue. At first I thought it was me getting excited and forgetting to cleanly unload and going through my ‘checklist’, but after it happened for a third time I realised something was off.
I looked closely at the case, and quickly dismissed this as the reason due to there being no discernible damage to any of the cases around the rim.
A quick look at the bolt head showed nothing dirty or out of place that would cause it either so I was beginning to run out of ideas. I got my Magnum bolt head out and compared the two - there’s the issue. The extractor claw in the std bolt head was weak, the one in the magnum bolt head much stronger.
A call to Mauser HQ at Guildford resulted in me dropping the bolt head offa couple of weeks later. The weak spring was replaced and the bolt head could’ve gone home with me that afternoon, but I’d not taken my FAC with me, never dreaming they’d turn it around in a couple of hours. So, I thought I’d ask them to post it back to my local RFD and I’d have to stand the postage too, but the helpful chap who repairs it asked me if I was attending the Stalking Show. I was, and he took it there for me and collection was done at the Mauser stand.
Now all of that I think is great customer service. However, when I tell you it was all done free of charge, it lifts great customer service to exceptional customer service.
Thank you to all the team at Mauser GB.
