Medal Fallow.

Debate is what it is about i am afraid and we will not always agree if that was the case we would just buy one book and never debate again. With regards the double glazing argument i don't know anything about it but if some one came up to me and stated they were to charge me 10x the price because it was gold seal i am sure i would tell them pleasantly were to put there glass
Paul a park deer can be put forward for a medal but will be named as a park deer . But there are them that are unscrupulous that are letting park deer go and then getting client s to shoot them as wild. We live in a sport that has many angles and some i just don't like but that's my opinion.

Thanks for clearing that up, I've learnt something. As I said I would get nothing out of shooting a big park deer, in or outside the park, but it's a free world! It is very difficult to police unless the park animal that is released is just too ridiculous for the locality and even then it might be difficult to be sure whether a deer was genuinely wild or released for shooting.

If I'm going to shoot a big animal I get a buzz out of the fact that it has survived in the wild for maybe 7 or 8 years (or more) and I've used my albeit limited skill and experience to get within shooting range.

LDG, myself and I presume many other users of this site would be very interested in seeing pictures of your "medal" Red Stag and Fallow.
If not then the CIC sheets would be very interesting.

Regarding my "park" animals, yes they are in a park but "like a childrens pet in a park" quite the opposite. Try and get close to a selected beast is not easy and does take some stalking, especially when you are in 450+ acres with varied terrain.

I don't know of anyone who releases a park trophy animal into the wild for it to then be shot, but yes it may possibly go on, who knows?

Over the last few years i have met a huge number of people interested in Deer shooting. Like on here there are many who have no idea of what they are talking about, who rant on about a subject with little or no knowledge of it and then condone people who participate in it.

Last week I spent a morning park culling with a very experienced and highly regarded Deer Manager. All I shall say about the morning is it was certainly not like shooting kiddies pets!

Everyone has their own views, varying budgets, and it seems some have more manners than others!

David Stretton indicated to me that park shooting was quite an involved skill, I would agree with him having observed the park deer he is involved with at Donington.
