The medical certificate is valid for 6 months, so I've heard 🤷‍♂️

What is the typical turn around time either from a doctor or via the other routes?
What are peoples experiences on this?
Is bobby18's experience of 4 months typical?

My GP practice charges £50 but guaranteed 4 week turnaround mine was more like 2 weeks

Hi.
FWIW.
My Doctor would not cooperate with my renewal so i had to use a third party Doctor.

I used Shootcert as it came recommended by BASC. The longest wait was my own Doctor releasing my records.

Once Shootcert had received them, i had the medical report PDF sent to my email within 24 hours. The printed version i had requested was posted and in my hands within 48 hours. The service from Shootcert was exceptional. £85??? rings a bell. Bit of a discount if BASC member.

I renewed my sgc then 2 months later applied for fac had to get another medical form signed. Now have them all expire at same time saves paying twice for medical form

My doctor charged me £80 and produced a certificate that wasn’t fit for purpose as he didn’t get my records from the MoD when I retired. Luckily a friendly military doctor was able to retrieve them for me, but I’d advise veterans to aim off for an above average level of kerfuffle.
