midland game fair

Saturday for us, have to keep the wife away from the Sauer stand, she wants a 101 in .270.

Sunday for me and some pals goner leave at 5 am try to get close for parking, then try a flying buy up due to bad weather, powder bullets and maybe some toys ziess cap lol as iv got one of their scopes and R.F at the cla .

Everyone I asked said to much for a pikey festival and Think it was rubbish last time they went.

Myself and Mrs. Krico 308 have attended for many years and witnessed it becoming more and more of a 'pikey festival' as some have said. Last year we thought it had gone far enough for us to say no more to it. So we are not going this year.

I hope those that attend find it enjoyable, but expect the stands to be high on security and your every move watched.

Tomorrow for me. Been the last few years now and yes, alot of the ''pikey'' sort turning up in there tweed. Very odd. Dont understand why they feel that have to do that.

Regards

James.

For me, now, there is only one fair I'll attend, & that's in Kelso, (subject to another quality one cropping up that is!), I have a mate, Potman on here .. (He's shy, he doesn't post, just reads) doing a specific two item purchase for me at the Pikey fair.:D

I have been going to the Midland for many years, more or less since it started, but will not be attending ever again because of the pikey element. I went on Sunday last year and there were a number of incidents, including a fight caused by a pikey who wanted to get in half price because he was only going to the Beer Tent, the car parked next to mine was stolen, I was told by one of the security staff that a number of guns went missing overnight.
That's enough for me, I shall only attend the CLA in future.
Sorry, Weston Park, it's been good over the years but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Im not bothering this year, as others have said it isnt the fair it used to be and if they dont change something i dont think it will be carrying on i a few years time. Traders cant afford the loss of stock and punters dont know if the contents of there car will be waiting for them at the end of the day or if the car its self is on the car park still.
I got everything i wanted and more from the states last month but i hope those who go have a good day. Maybe next year if this years Pikey fest has turned into the midland game fair again.

I don,t attend either the CLA or midland anymore, both are a rip off, but I have to laugh at the inverted snobbery on this site by some people, at the CLA guns, cars etc get stolen the same at the shooting show. As to why some people feel the need to wear tweed at country shows, I suppose it's the same reason people with a dsc and 100acres of stalking, call themselves deer managers.

got to admit, i aint been for 4 years and although i get freebie tickets i found it was going down hill for some years.
the gun traders were getting less as they fear for there security and the pitch prices were on the up.
the amount of theft was horrendous, and it seemed a very unfriendly place. if i want something its on the net for me.
shame, as this was one of the best events on the calender.

nutty
came across a very nice bloke
was going above the call of duty till his bloody lap top died
He was going to look up some powders for the 20 tac
I didn't expect that at a game fair but his efforts were much appreciated
going to visit his workshop in the next couple of weeks

+1 have attended every year but last year was my last i will not go again PIKEY'S were everywhere my pal had sticks stolen from his stand, guns were stolen, cars broken into and their contents missing and it has become a rip off entrance fee.
