As we know tricky devils to skin after hanging.
I saw on another thread, which I cant find, a suggestion that splitting the skin down the length of the back helps. Hide is only going in with the waste anyway.
Tried this yesterday on a young buck, used a small roeing knife, it worked a treat. As with all good ideas I had a why didnt I think if that in the first place moment.
So thanks to whoever put the idea in a thread I cant now find.

Young in any deer is easy to skin, I don't find them tricky, there is one muscle on the back end that will hold on and tear every time if you are not carful.
If there is a tricky bit then the strip of brisket/armpit fur, glad you found a method that works for you.
All the high volume game dealers use a hide puller.

I use Snakes knives Roe knife .
Plenty big enough and skin up from the legs then along the belly and upwards.
Not the fastest but works for me .
