Muzzle Brake

Good to know! I don’t be putting any real expensive glass on it then. It’s really hard to see but if you watch the video enough, you can see the shock wave entering and bouncing back out of the scopes objective.
I’ve got a Nightforce on my .50 bmg, the muzzle blast via the brake is a physical assault. I have zero concerns on the glass. I really wouldn’t over think it too much.

Quite the opposite, actually. The more expensive glass/scope is (generally) more robust than a less expensive scope. It's partly why the scopes are more expensive; the erector housings are more robust.

And no, the brake is not sending a shock wave back into the objective lens (physically impossible, given the direction the brake cuts are located).

If it were true that brakes were hard/bad on scopes (and their objective lenses), then brakes would no longer be being used so prolifically. Just look at the thousands upon thousands of long range shooting rifles that use brakes, often with scopes/glass that cost as much (or more) than the rifle itself. ...I think I can safely say that brakes affecting objective lenses is not a problem.

How these internet myths get started is beyond me....smh.

I remember being down at Sennybridge shooting next to someone with a .338LM TRG with the muzzle brake. I had foam ear plugs in tight along with ear defenders and the blast still made me wince. I tend to be kind and shoot my larger pieces with a sound mod, apart from the .50 that is.

Or, it's for people shooting long range, that want to see their splash better. Brakes are not all about recoil reduction. There are several benefits to them, in the appropriate conditions.
Must be why ballistic shades are so popular, for all that dust kicked up.
Probably the source of "Grit your teeth" too.
;)

you realy need a moderator i bet Trump will sanction them
Unfortunately, moderators' legality has more to do with the state than the federal government (kinda like abortion now). If you live in certain states, moderators will remain restricted (unfortunately) regardless of who is POTUS.
