I’m originally from a small town in South Africa, where farm life was just part of who I was. I grew up hunting with my dad and took my first impala when I was just 8 years old with a .308 Win Mag. From that moment, I was hooked. By the time I was 14, I was guiding hunters for pocket money—often skipping family holidays because I’d rather be out on the farm hunting.
I moved to the UK at 18 and have only managed to get back to South Africa a few times since, where I’ve hunted the occasional bush pig or impala. But after 19 years away, I’ve realised how much I’ve been missing that part of my life.
I’m really glad I came across this community, and I’m looking forward to learning from all of you and being part of the conversations here.
