Need a new case tumbler

My old tumbler starts up 'Bbbrrrrrrrr' and then stops.
I can wire a house (I can put a plug on) but little stuff - electronics - leaves me puzzled.
So it's either get it fixed (I wouldn't know where to start) or buy a new one.
Any bargains that we know of or recommendations? Or does anyone know what the problem is with my 20 year old Frankford Arsenal tumbler?
