Need advice on some new kit please

Knife wildcard - SOG SEAL Pup. I swapped onto one of these from the EKA Swingblade and have never looked back.

This knife will do anything you need to do in the field for all 6 UK species and will sort out most foreign creatures besides.
Its a Muela Rebeco.
Handles are stabilised wood or antler scale, it comes in at round £60, so within budget. Blade is a high molybdenum steel, takes and holds an edge and easy enough to keep sharp. Sheath is leather, a classic stalking blade at a reasonable price.

Bino harnesses, the marsupial gear are the dogs danglies and you can fit accessory pouches on either side or on the bottom. Dead easy to import from USA and here within a week. The important thing for me is that the top flap folds forwards out of the way not back towards my body.

...this is the brand that I bought (imported from the US). I 100% agree that they are well made and well designed - including the flip lid which opens away from the body with a magnetic clasp to fix in place. It's all well made and thought out. But I just couldn't get on with it. I think I underestimated how awkward having a "box" fixed to the front of my chest would be. And if you are wearing lots of layers the problem (for me at least) was amplified. I was really surprised at how difficult I found it to use. Maybe I should give it another go...

What an honest chap you are! So good to see another SD member concede what I’ve been trying to convey since first importing my FHT harness.

Please don’t waste your time giving it another go as unless you are a male 36D-Cup, donning a bino bra will not feel any more comfortable the second time around.

I swear by Alaskan Guide Creations binocular holders (see Malmo Guns @Malmo Guns on here for UK stock). I have the one with the pocket on the bottom as well as the sides and back. My thermal (Helion) sits in an accessory pouch on the right and I carry my Spartan bipod on the left side. Great kit - works well

Here are my recommendations:

Knife - Bark River Drop Point Hunter with micarta or canvas handle. Can be pre-ordered custom right now on DLT trading.



Boots - Lowa Z8S GTX. Lightweight, waterproof, and are built extremely well. I use them for hunting and work. My current pair have lasted 6 years.





Bino harness - Kuiu pro bino harness. Best I’ve used so far. Very well designed and quiet.
