Hi folks,
Charity begging thread, I'm afraid.
Today my wife is running her first marathon in Newport, Wales. It's a huge personal achievement for her to do this, as she's struggled with her weight her whole life and prior to the run today she's lost 8 stone in the last couple of years.
To say I'm proud of her is obviously an understatement. Anyway, her motivation was mainly personal, but she has tried to raise a little money for charity as well. She's chosen Dementia UK.
She's en-route now, and although she hasn't been making a big fuss about the event, I know that she was slightly disappointed that a few more of her colleagues and friends haven't supported her effort. She'd be over the moon to have a little more money raised by the time she finishes, so if any of you feel able to donate, the link is below...

Rebecca Williams is fundraising for Dementia UK

Thank you so much in advance to anybody who makes even the smallest donation! I know the collective membership already support a lot of charitable causes and I respect that not everyone will want or be able to give to everything that comes up.

I hope she'll enjoy her day and be, rightly, very proud of her run. What an excellent achievement even before the start line. Please let us know how she does.
A colossal effort must have gone into this...so i hope she gets plenty of support...

A pic. crossing the Finish line would be good.
You know what they say to people who claim good groups they’ve shot...Pics, or it didn’t happen.

Would be nice to see her finish, but I understand if she doesn’t want her pic. on a shooting board.
Regards,Ken.

I'll do my best to elbow a gap in the crowd and snap her crossing the line...
