hi all in need of some new wellies more for dog walking and occasional walk with shotgun will stick to boots for stalking old ones have given up the ghost sort of answering my own question in a way have had the last pair of le chameau for 10 years with no prob's
just wondering are they still as good or has something taken there place all seem to cost a lot more than 10 years ago but what doesn't

cheers b.b

Just a few weeks back I was in a similiar dilemma, after looking around it was either le chameau or agile.
A localish Gunshop had both in my size so I went and tried them on, both nice, both f******g expensive.
The aigle felt twice as good for comfort, and a lot more robust, so that’s what sit in my boot room now..
Just for the record, both pairs felt true to size, which after trying the Dunlop purofort and the Hoggs of fife wellies I was relieved about as both those two came up huge

I have Seals neoprene wellies and pretty much used daily for dog walks - dogging in etc - I wear boots as often as possible for full day stuff, bought a slight second leather lined pair of Chamaue as for a full bearing day Neoprene make my feet sweat during prolonged wearing - so wet inside defeats object
Not done enough to say if the leather lined are any good - but 100% the seals are a robust boot, good ankle support and grip

Skellerup Quatro Sport are simply brilliant.

Grubs. I bought a pair of their Tayline last year. Very warm and very comfortable and a lot cheaper than "Designer" wellies. (they also came with a free pair of socks!)

Your lucky, me and the Mrs had 3 pairs between us and they struggled to last a year

As a size 17 barge holder I struggle. I have the top of the range Le Chameau wellies coming in the next 2 days to try for fit as beggars can't be choosers. In the end I may have to send them back and see if the biggest Dunlops fit me.

I got a pair of Dunlop purofort and they were at least 1 size bigger than stated if that’s any help

On my second pair of Harkila Orton Zipped neoprene wellies BUT only because they come up large in size. Adding extra socks just made my feet sweat - dropping a size (down to 43 as opposed to 44) resulted in a nice not too tight fit, no slipping inside the boot and most importantly, no sweating! These are my go to stalking boots in wet weather including 2 hard weeks up on Arran when it was unseasonably warm. I'm wearing them 3 times or so every week, often for 6 hours or more at a stretch with no issue. I like their Vibram (boot) sole and the zip makes them so easy to put on or remove.

I’ve gone to Seeland ones myself. Le Chameau fall apart (my first pair did six or more years, the next pair 18 months) Aigles are too narrow and cheaper models are unreliable.

Was in the same position to replace my 10 year old Verizords (that still work fine). Was thinking Aigle, but John Norris have 20% off Le Chameaus ending today - so went same again.

Yes iv'e had two pairs of Grubs, and neither of them lasted 12 months, the uppers went rotten.
I now have a pair of skellerup quatro sport and they have lasted 2 years and are still good, and i haven't slipped and fallen on the grass with them, their the best iv'e had.
