New Damascus Knife

Just to show you what AE damascus looks like here is one I made earlier. I did the deep hollow grind on an 8" wheel and finished with wetndry 600 grade before etching in ferric chloride. Handle is snake wood and fittings are nickel silver. When I was satisfied the handle was waterproof I re etched the spine in ferric and it didn't seam to affect the wood. I still have to put an edge on it and do a sheath.

That is very nice. Only to be improved by a tapered tang?

It's interesting that the lively grain of the snakewood scales works so well with the Damascus.

Just a quick update on this knife & I realise that at the price it was probably a Pakistan/Indian made Damascus blade but so far so good, its performed admirably, kept a very good edge & stayed in one piece & still looks good.

Sorry that Foxydave had such a bad experience with the sellers.

Must admit I still use my two Mora's & my EKA Swingblade more than any other knives I own :thumb:

Cheers

Chris
