Hi guys!
Came across this website whilst doing some research on new stalking grounds for different species and thought I'd join. I'm FAC and shotgun licensed and currently use 6.5 creedmoor,. 17 HMR, 22lr and 12g shotgun.
I mainly stalk deer and control rabbits and woodies for local farmers but also take pheasant and partridge when they wander onto my permissions.
I'm based in North Essex, pretty much on the Essex/ Suffolk border and look after about 200 acres for local farmers who live next to me. My stalking mainly consists of muntjac control as we have them in overwhelming numbers here but do also take a couple of fallow each year as they're in fairly decent numbers, very rarely we see Roe but they're always left as numbers are very low- they're just a treat to see on a stalk.
I'm part of a syndicate that has grounds in Oxford and Tunbridge Wells but ideally would like to try and find something a little closer to home.
I'm mainly here to widen my stalking repertoire and gain some new species/ develop my field craft in new environments. I shoot for the table so must admit I'm more interested in CWD and Roe, possibly even Sika as well over the majestic Reds- but if the right opportunities where to arise it would be a tough one to refuse!
I look forward to reading more of your threads, picking up some friendly tips/tricks and hopefully contributing some of my own.
Regards, creedmoor bob
