New Stalker

New Member
Hi All,

My name is Tim from East Devon. I am new to the world of stalking and have only had my license since April, after 6 months of waiting for Devon and Cornwall to grant my co-terminus license. My main reason for starting was to fill my freezer and take some control back from where my food is coming from. After much deliberation and reading write up's and blogs I opted for a 308, the 17 hmr, and a 12g. I have been out quite a few times now and only managed a few foxes but finally on Friday night managed to shoot a lovely Roe Buck at about 40 yds on open ground. It was great stalk, with the wind perfect so much so, both the Doe and the Buck just kept walking towards us, the Doe much have only been 20 yds away in the end when I took the Buck.
My mentor has now signed me of, and the restriction now removed from my license. In the long run and after a lot more experience I would like to add wild boar onto my license, and hopefully into my freezer!

Cheers Tim

Welcome Tim,

Sounds like you have had a really good start into the world of stalking.

One point on the boar mate, just get AOLQ added onto your certificate and then your covered. Then you can use your .308 for fox, deer and boar.

All the best with your stalking journey.
