New Thermal "Dealers".................Caveat Emptor !

I've posted this in "General", because I think people need to be aware.............

The number of new "Thermal dealers" popping up almost daily, with the product range always nigh on identical to each other. I'm struggling to believe that the Manufacturers/ importers are just handing out dealerships to all, and sundry, they generally have strict criteria before you can become a dealer, so to me at least, they're suspicious, & should be treated with caution.

To qualify, I was curious to know who all these new dealers are. It only takes seconds to look up company, & website details, and I'm finding most of the info a bit of a concern.

When I looked into one website, there's no registered company, and the contact tel.no used for registering the domain, lead to someone in Arizona, with the tel.no listed as a know scammer.

Companies/domains have at been registered for about 12 months at best, with most under 6 months. In some cases, there is only a website registered, but no company exists at Companies House. And where there is a registered company, the directors have no other companies listed, so zero track record, never having filed accounts in their lives. One is "trading as", and the parent company doesn't appear to exist either.

I'm sure some of these new companies will be legitimate, but I'd suggest using due diligence, and if unsure make you pay by credit card, or buy from well known established companies.

Arizona could just be their website developers address. The site seems to be linked to shops in Northern Ireland?

Perhaps, it's the telephone number, US code, listed as a scammer, that is the Red Flag. Widewood Optics may be legit, but there are many options that are long standing, with excellent reputations, and at least you know they'll still be around for backup, & support.

wildwood is a dealer in ireland and is not a scammer in any way shape or form
many new dealers are giving the customers the service the more established ones are not
we constantly get complaints about a dealer on here who never replies to customers or helps with warranty issues
nothing wrong with new dealers everyone started from day one
good service is what we need from all dealers

Apologies if you are legitimate, but the online information certainly suggests the number used to register the domain, is associated with a scammer.

Good luck with your venture.

I think the phone number is only associated with the web host, who also host a bunch of other sites that are nothing to do with the company mentioned above. yes, some of these other sites have been reported as running some sort of scam however the only contact number is the "whois" data, so unless I’ve missed something its not relevant and in no way linked ot JimZed.

Totally agree, every company has a "day one", but at the same time, brand new companies, with brand new Directors, with no track record, should be treated with caution, because with so many new companies entering any market, all promoting the identical product range, they will all be under extreme pricing pressure, all competing for the same online business.

So early on, service remains to be seen, and I hope they all achieve a high level, not easy with such high value products, and maintaining stock levels from day one.

some older dealers should spend less time crying on facebook, making up stories and spend more time offering their customers some support
we get contacted weekly to sort out issues from a dealer on here and as a new dealer we take pride in offering a good service to everyone

Maybe stop the witch hunting

Another stupid comment, based on what ? If you don't like the content, why are you bothering to read, and reply

I'm only involved as someone interested in buying another thermal, and coming across so many brand new companies selling Thermtec, & Senopex, to me, it came across as suspicious !

I have only suggested caution, only mentioned one name, for which was mistaken, and I have apologized for, and people can choose whatever they think appropriate, if buying a thermal !
