Nice whole lamb at the 3 counties show

What class was it in at the show?

(eg, pure continental; continental-x; pure native lowland; native lowland x; pure hill & upland; etc etc)

38 lambs in the competition. If you Google 3 Counties show lamb carcass class you can see the details of how the completion is run

Most were texel or texel crosses.
Champion carcass went to a pub/ restaurant and from memory it was £400+!
When I get home I will check my notes as have all the auction prices.
We watched the auction last year but didn't buy but this year had a bid. Most of the carcasses were purchased by a dealer. Several members of the public got a carcass and were v pleased with their purchase.

Good prices for the consumer. We were selling at £8/kg dead weight this year into a butcher - however that’s cheap compared to some, especially what people were charging for direct supply of boxed lamb
