Just home from the 3 counties show with this whole lamb which we brought at the lamb carcass auction.
24 kg Suffolk cross £156 and £20 to butcher as requested.
So approx £6.50 kg
Very pleased with our purchase. Guess what is on the menu for Sunday lunch.!

Most were texel or texel crosses.
Champion carcass went to a pub/ restaurant and from memory it was £400+!
When I get home I will check my notes as have all the auction prices.
We watched the auction last year but didn't buy but this year had a bid. Most of the carcasses were purchased by a dealer. Several members of the public got a carcass and were v pleased with their purchase.

Good prices for the consumer. We were selling at £8/kg dead weight this year into a butcher - however that’s cheap compared to some, especially what people were charging for direct supply of boxed lamb
