Not Shed Yet..

Would be interesting to know if they do shed around a particular date or as Tim suggests shedding is relevant to month of birth instead. Which should mean spring born muntjac should have bigger antlers due to abundance of good food, just a thought? Discuss...

This Is why I really wish more collar surveys went on over here, there's so much too learn about roe, muntjac, water deer versus the red what Is one of the most documented cervid species besides whitetail 👍

I did not know deer grew genuine buttons within there first 12 months of life shed them and grew into there first genuine set the following spring.
It wasn't until a whitetail deer breeder posted there 8+ month fawns with them that I realised it was actually correct, I was under the impression actual hard antler buttons were an deficient 1 1/2

Every day Is a learning day

Well one area had a number of muntjac with quite a lot more white in the back lower legs which I have probably shot out now :tiphat:
So that Gene was passed on! (for a while) As it is getting warmer also no noticeable season like the 60/70's and stories told from the past from older generations a good example is the wood pigeon breeding all year, so as the seasons change the only thing in them breeding all year around is US lol
