NZ hunting

Just watched a NZ Controlled Recoil video on You Tube. c.400 yd shots with .308, pig, deer and goats recovered in one session and recovery from precipitous drops. Steep doesn’t begin to describe it. Kudos to the hunter who is at one with his ground, quarry and kit. Amazing contrast to my benign walk on the woods, after roe and muntjac. Now on my list for next year, but can anyone tell me if NZ hunting has to include “the steep stuff”? I’m not great with heights but willing to “man up” if necessary, or just bring extra underwear…😳

I went stalking and pig hunting in North island nice rolling countryside and some steep bits but nothing scary.
Watch hunt for the wilderpeople for an ideal of the terrain and a good laugh.

You're a whole lot more likely to come undone in a creek or river than plummeting to your doom off some precipitous hillside.

What island are you looking at - and what animals do you want to chase?
