Old mans first Muntjack worth sending off?

So.... finger in air...
I have done some measurments mostly with calipers and masking tape.. after looking up the cic measurments.

I would say i have been restrictive and tight to the tolerances.. what would you expect this to score if it went off to be measured... do they round up or down...or am i just looking at the same score as its all down to personal interpretation.

Doesnt actully really matter, either way a brilliant memory, may send it off if people think its worthwhile, either way will get it mounted up soon enough for his birthday

I would get it measured, if it doesn't make a medal then they don't charge you. Looks a nice buck to me .

I personally would get it mounted. The trophy/size aspects shrink in comparison to the memory it will recall every time it's looked at by you.
My boss made many trips to Africa as a younger man, bringing trophies back with him. To this day, looking at them, I can see that they transport him back there. I have shot larger specimens of some of the species he has, meant nothing to me as I grew up there. To him, they're a link to different times.
So I would get it done, memories are golden and can never be taken from you.

Yes indeed. I have instant recollection every time I pass the bronze medal head on our kitchen wall, sadly shot by my wife. Still mustn’t grumble......

It is not about the medals it is about the memories.

Send it off to be measured if you wish, but either way, have it mounted and gifted to your Father - I have no doubt that he will be delighted with it.
