Out last night.

Just shot my furthest for with the .223, 416 yards, I normally wouldn’t of entertained that but a completely still night boosted my confidence, only problem is it’s on next doors farm, I can see it laid dead in the grass field through the thermal so as it’s one in the morning I can’t go past their house to go and get it so I’ll have to ring my mate in the morning so he can get it or tell the chicken lad next door where it is

Nice. Did you use electronic sighting assistance?

Great night last night. Turned up at midnight to check the only cut grass which I had baited with rabbits 2 days ago. Nothing in field on arrival but as I was setting up 2 suddenly appeared. The 1st one was heading towards me so let it come and shot a dog fox , quick check further back and tge other was still there so dropped that too , a bobtail vixen. Only been there 10 mins 😀

Went to look further on and spotted another on a track ..no 3 in the bag within 1/2 an hour.

Called for a bit with nothing more seen.

I told my mate and he wizzed round on the quad to get it, I said to him “ what was it “ he said “ it’s a fu*king fox, what did you think it was “ 😂 I then said “ did you take a picture of it “ he replied “ why the fu*k would I take a picture of a dead fox “ 😂 I love farmers 🤣
He now just thinks I’m weird

Yes yes you’re correct it’s a jackal, a bit bigger than foxes. They’re actually replacing them, I haven’t seen a fox in almost one year. More opportunistic and bigger, sometimes they hunt in packs, the foxes have been wiped out. About 100 km from me, the first wolves are appearing. When they replace the jackal, we’re properly done…
I did wonder when you said it was eating figs, and then I saw your location!!

Out on the neighbours ground Friday night. Saw a badger mooching about and then the first fox appears . Shot him at about 120 yards and then the vixen about 100 yards away about 10 seconds later. The dog is the one at the back...scruffy looking thing. Farmer is well chuffed as always which is good since shes a neighbour as well. 90 grain softs seem to work ok 😅 Nos 21 & 22 👍

Out last night I got caught in a downpour so sheltered under a tree next to a track.

After 5 mins or so a fox jumped out of the grass and trotted towards me . It stopped 6 ft from and had no idea I was there, sniffed the air and twitched it's ears then eventually clocked me and off it went.

Loads of hedgehogs out last night , counted a dozen in one field.
