Out last night.

Nicely done there mate. Im amazed to see a fox caller working as I was informed by the oracle (or is orifice) that they are a waste of time...and that was the Terminator himself ... oh well cant always be right   👍
No, no, no! Icotech 500 and the Mini-caller works a treat - called in a fox from 480yds to about 50 last week but ahem….. couldn’t get a shot because of hedges…

Sunday I set up the trail camera again as lambs are coming and piglets.
Fox had passed Two nights in a row and also a muntjac and a badger have showed themselves tonight.

I went out with the new thermal spotter tonight but unfortunately the Alpex had decided to throw itself off zero again. Wind was picking up along with the rain so decided I would sort it tomorrow.

I haven't seen rabbits like that for ages.
One place has some and I'm trying to protect them like they are gold!

That field is ours and they do no harm so I tend to leave a dozen or so as long as they're not showing any signs of Mixy, VHD. The 16 & 18 acres next door however both landowners need the rabbits reduced.

Text from local lad who sells eggs, small pen raided and one or two birds lost. Popped round there last night, clear starry sky and a chilly wind. A few toots on the mouth caller and five mins later this chap was seen crossing the field a couple of hundred metres yonder. Another little tootle from me and he came trotting rather briskly straight in. Classic bib shot with the 204 as he came head on about 60m.
Eight minutes after arriving I'm back in the truck with a dozen eggs.
Tidy.

Nicely done there mate. Unless I have any problem foxes I ll be leaving them alone until July...Ive hit them reasonably hard over winter so they can have their cubs in peace...as long as they behave 👍
