Padded Rifle Slip

Hi, can anyone recomend a good quality padded slip that would take a rifle, with bipod and mod fitted, without being too big and bulky (like the tactical type!)???
Thanks Kev.
Ps rifle in question is Blaser R93 with ASE Utra mod and 50mm scope.

The Buffalo River ones are pretty good value for money. But despite being tactical, the AIM 50 Drag bag is without doubt the best you can buy, the quality is head and shoulders above the rest.

Hi have you looked at the harkila skane rifle case The Harkila Skane is a luxury rifle case with leather trim and a very strong 2 way zip.. . Large enough for the biggest rifle with scope

If you want something that is going to last buy a Brady, they are pricey but you only need to but it once, and dont buy a Napier they fall to bits, yes they will give you another and that one will fall to bits too.

Seconded for the Country Covers case. Excellent rifle case, well made, lots of padding. Highly recommended.

Hi There'

I have used all kinds of slings from basket weave leather to neoprene and even some fancy stuff from the states, however I now use the padded super sling on each of my four rifles and the other slings just hang on a peg in my gun cupboard. I would not hesitate to recomend them although one has developed an annoying sqeak (I think it might actually be the swivel itself) I dont know if they are still available but I bought a supply from the states when last there. the attached is hopefully a link to show the type I mean.

Cheers Remmy7.

Appologies,

I should really read things fully, I just noticed that this thread is about a "slip" and not a sling.

Cheers Remmy7

I have anissue one from a .338 and although the zip is a bit knackered it is still superb. The pockets on the side are big enough for my lamping batteries so i can carry my rifle and lamping gear on my back at thesame time. They come up on the bay every so often and are worth the money

Another vote for Country Covers (Arktis) slip. Extremely well made. I also have a Garlands one which will open out like a shooting mat and has pockets on it, slightly cheaper than the CC one, but nowhere near the quality.

Have a look at TAB gear rifle slips.I bought one in the summer and I think it`s great. Every sling I`ve had has either given up at the zip or the sling. This is not an issue with the Tab as you use the rifle sling and it has 4 heavy duty catches with no pressure on them The cover is made from cordura with a little padding round the mod and sight,it weighs ounces ,and for what it`s worth, I think it`s the dogs nads! Oh yes and you can get them made to measure.

I have two of these skane rifle cases and are of excellent quality. Hope this helps

If anyone's reading this thread recently:

I picked up an akah slip from border gunroom at Kelso fair for £35. Really well made, bags of room for rifle, bipod and 56mm S&B
scope on high mounts. Not sure which model it is as this one has shop's name on the side.
