Pard 008 vs Alpex vs Cheetah

Hi all - I should be grateful for any views on which of the above options (or any alternatives) would be likely to best suit my needs. I shoot a .308 at ranges of 40-80m (mostly closer to 40m) and it is about 30% daylight shooting and 60% low light/dusk. I am looking to be able to extend my viable shooting time as much as possible by using NV. I was initially thinking of a Pard 007 add on, but as I have Vortex scope without parallax adjustment I am having second thoughts (although I guess I could part-ex my vortex and get an 007 and cheaper AO scope). That has led me to consider a used Pard 008, Alpex or Cheetah. Which of all these options (or any alternatives with a similar cost) would people recommend for my intended use?

Many thanks

PS - have also seen the cheap ATN Mars thermal scopes, but have been put off by the generally bad reviews...

Virtually all digital scopes whether they are NV or thermal have significantly shorter eye relief than traditional glass scopes.
That's not a problem for air rifle, rimfire and small centrefire use, but might be an issue on heavier recoiling centrefire rifles like a 308
The PARD 008 has only 35mm eye relief, the Alpex has 60mm eye relief, the Cheetah has 45 mm of eye relief and the Pulsar Digex C50 has 50mm of eye relief
The only digital scope that has 100mm of eye relief (which is close to most glass scopes) is the PARD DS35
The DS35-50 would be a better choice for your needs than the DS35-70

Crikey - thanks Bruce; I hadn't even thought of that potential problem (which I guess might also count out a Pard 007 add on)! My .308 rifle has a heavy stock and mod on it which I think helps with recoil - and as my eye relief currently is about 80mm, I would hopefully be ok with the Alpex (which I think is cheaper than the DS35) by the sounds of it....

The Alpex will be a better option than the Pard DS 35, lower base mag for the distances you mention and far better in low light.

The Alpex is a better all round scope than the DS35, but I might be inclined to go with more eye relief than the 60mm on the Alpex and live with the reduced clarity rather than getting "scoped"
Any rear add-on would be worse than any digital scope when it comes to eye relief

Recently Bought a Alpex to put onto my TikkaT3 .308, I don’t do a lot of foxing , but shot two foxes in an hour on first night out, of fox approx 60 yds second one approx 117yds. - really rate the scope - have also shot one deer using this scope. Fallow buck approx 60 yds in woodland, view though scope is not as good as a good glass scope , I found that I was picking up on a fair bit of brush in front of the deer through the scope - but had a clearer view with my binoculars- I like the scope and great on my 308 for specific jobs, will continue using the 30-06 with a traditional glass scope for most stalking
