Four men sentenced following hare coursing incidents in Stirling and the Borders - Police Scotland

As a result of an intelligence lead operation, Wildlife Crime Officers successfully secured the conviction of four men involved in hare coursing in Stirling and Borders area.

Convictions made possible by members of the public picking up the phone and contacting the police to report suspicious activity that they suspected was wildlife criminality.

Wasn’t long ago that farmers were crying out for us to control hares with lurchers.

I totally agree and although I haven't coursed since the early nineties I still maintain shooting hares is far worse than coursing.

Nothing invented about thefts or damage down this way pal.
Unfortunately it attracts more wrong uns then genuine dog men these days.
Almost a year ago to the day £750k of plant and Terragator muck spreader burnt out because manure had been spread on the stubbles the gangs had been coursing.
I could go on,posted pictures on here showing Hares layed out in large numbers down the road.
Live stream betting linked to county lines criminal gangs etc.
Taken a long time for the feds to accept it but facts arrests and pro active policing have shown it to be true.
Prize fighting dog fighting bager baiting (not digging) all been linked with fertilizer skimming theft, none dwelling burglary illegal drug dealing.
Go attend the your local country watch barn meetings……the truth is out there…… only taken two decades for the penny to drop down here.

If you make something illegal then only criminals do it, and they were criminals beforehand.

So everything I’ve posted is a fantasy I and many others have made up.
Coursing was a sport enjoyed by many from all walks of life, me included.
Gutted it was banned.
Absolutely no time for the tossers who carry out the above activities wether you agree or not are linked to hare coursing.
It’s illegal mate end of. Championing criminals is not a virtue I would associate my self with.
