2 metres of galvanised water pipe, squarely & securely fixed to the horizontal handle, with someone at each end, is what I'd do........looking at that bruise, you could have cracked a rib..

I think I got away with just soft tissue damage, thankfully. Looking back, I can't believe I was dumb enough to have the extension bar fitted

My stupidity could've resulted in much worse! I got lucky

You need to get some which hazel on a big pad of cotton wool on that it will help with reducing the bruising

The Stihl one-man auger is twice the cost of the competition, BUT, it has a clutch lever that sits against your thigh/body in use. The moment the auger catches and the body starts to rotate, the clutch kicks in. I used to use one a lot, it never beat me up

We have one of these and they are brilliant, would never use one without a clutch

I didn't know such a thing existed. Wish to God I had! Bruising is coming along nicely now. Although I'm slightly confused at how my nipple appears to be a lot tougher than the rest of me

Have used Stihl 2 man jobs for boring 350mm holes. I always tied a rope to one side (the correct side) then to a tree or vehicle etc so when the auger hits a tree root etc the rope takes any problems away.

You would have known , Torque = force x distance , drilled a lot of chassis mounting 5th wheels after chassis extensions etc everybody was very wary of the drill that when it grabbed would chuck you off the frame . You need a left handed violin now .........
