Primers - North West supplier

I wondered if anyone in the North West could recommend a supplier for primers.
Looking for 300PRC / 308 and 22-250 primers
I’d be grateful if you could point me in the direction of a supplier.

Westlands (Just over the border past Gretna) had some large rifle primers a couple of weeks ago, Magtech No. 9 1/2. But no small rifle primers. It's a bit of a trek for you, but if you like to shoot clays, there's an excellent clay ground there to while away an hour or two and the restaurant do excellent lunches if you want to make a day of it.

But maybe your best bet would be Henry Krank, between Bradford and Leeds. Not such a nice day out, and still a bit of a trek I guess, but pretty much guaranteed to have some in.

You mean large rifle primers.
Croxton Country Stores have some.
Staffordshire.

Are magtech primers as bad as I’ve heard? Something like 8% misfires??

I think Magtech reliability depends on the batch. I have had 3 FTF in about 400 rounds of small rifle. I spoke to the place I bought them from and he said that I'm not the only person who's reported problems.

That's a blast from the past Duncan Lowton.
Many years ago I used to deliver castrol BP and esso oil to garages and agricultural dealers . There was a brand new land-rover in his garage . Duncan had won it in a clubman clay pigeon shoot at the North wales shooting school. If I remember he had not past his driving test. Duncan gave me a box of S+B shotgun cartridges to try . He used this brand for clay pigeon practice. I noticed the garage was still open when I passed a few months ago

That's the chap. A true gent and sportsman.
His wife, son and daughter in law are all lovely.
Spend many an hour with them.

I think he is a clay shooting instructor at Hodnet shooting ground.
I dropped a barrel of oil of for him at a farm and he had his own clay tower there.

I don't know if he still does that but he often instructs on the grouse moores here and there.
Of all the high end people he works with or for, the invites to grand shoots, he'd rather be out shooting squirrels or crows with his trusty old shiny 1100 or standing waiting for a duck to come in with a spaniel by his side.
