Problem Tikka T3X Z6i 2.5-15x56

I have a Tikka t3x in .308win (standard barrel) with a stalon X108 moderator and recently installed Swarovski Z6i 2.5-15 X 56 gen2 mounted with optilock bases and size medium rings. At 2.5 power the top of the moderator is showing on the bottom 1/6 of the scope view. It obviously lessens as you zoom in and only disappears after 4 power. It’s very unlightly to take a shot below 4 power, but still I wasn’t expecting this issue. Both mounts are definitely medium.

I’m just wondering if anybody has a similar setup and come across the same issue of view or not.

It's very common with and scope and low mag

No problem with my T3X in .308 with same scope in medium Tier One rings with a F&D FW196. I do have an Area 51 Picatinny rail fitted though…..

Ok many thanks for info, that’s very helpful to know. Any idea what the measurement is from the top of the action to the bottom of the scope tube at the mount. Just to compare to my setup. It might be an option for me to go higher and change mod.

Yep I get that on low mag on my 2 swaros between 1.5 - 4. I’ve got used to it now, hasn’t caused me any probs just one of those things, I’m out at the moment with the lamp on top of the hornet and just put it to 4 mag as I’m only out to about 80 yds waiting for a Charlie

Why is it a problem? If 5/6ths of the scope is clear of obstruction then I don't see how it affects anything.

Just means your scope is mounted at the correct height and you have the best chance of getting decent repeatable cheek weld.

From a quick measurement, I reckon it's 32mm and the Area 51 rail is adding 5mm at the bottom I believe.



These are now high Tier One Tactical mounts rather than the medium Tier One standard rings in the picture above on sticks as I wanted to try a red dot sight above the Z6i for close range - off-hand shooting.

Just checked my set up and yes' I can see a blurred bit, very low in the image. If I were to be seeing that' when on low mag then I am not concentrating on the centered target?

Embrace proper stock to shoulder fit.
