Quick detach mounts

I was wondering if anyone can advise on whether such a set up is reliable. I have done plenty of reading and there are so many different views on the issue. From what I gather, a single rail is probably my best bet, but I am willing to be corrected.

I am open to suggestions, if someone has experience in using something that is reliable. I am particularly interested to hear from you if you have any experience on the following:

Rusan
Spuhr ISMS QDP (in various 'flavours')
Britannia Quick Release Ring Mounts
Magne-Tech QR Magnetic Mounts
ATN Quick Detach Mount

I am thinking/hoping to be able to move my Zeiss Victory Varipoint 3-12x56 from one rifle (Browning A bolt in .308) to my new Browning X bolt 2 rifle (again in .308) maintaining zero. Is this possible? Is this a reasonable expectation, or should I look at just buying a second scope for the new rifle?

Many thanks!

As has been said, different rifles, different characteristics.

What you can do is record two different scope settings, one for each rifle, and dial in the scope for the rifle. SPUHR ISMS work very well as long as the mount goes in the same place on the rail each time. It’s just a question of taking accurate notes

The Dentler mount system allows you to use once scope across several rifles without adjusting the scope, works by having windage and elevation adjustments on the rail itself. They're expensive and quite tall, but by all accounts they work very well.

Buy another scope and make your life far easier. It’s not really ‘on’ to move scopes and not take a test / control shot after refitting. Even the best of the best QD mounts will sometimes give you a POI change, even though, they shouldn’t. I’ve used many, from EAW to Suhler clawmounts, never did I trust a set without checking first on paper.

I didn’t have any success with the Britannia mounts. 2 pairs sent back for the threads coming away before reaching any sort of torque.
