Quick release mounts for sako 75

hello all,
I am looking to buy two sets of quick release mounts for my sako 75. I want to be able to swap between my thermal and my day scope. I have been having trouble finding a set the will clip straight on to my rifle without the need for a rail. Can anyone recommend a good quality set that will hold zero?

The last Sako I had wore Warne QR/D rings which fitted straight onto the Dovetail and were very repeatable when taking off/on, not sure if they are still available or if they would fit a 75 as they were for an older L579.

Interested to see the responses to this, I have an inclination to do similar. My thoughts was along the line of contessa picatinny and then decent (warne, sphur, leupold) QD mounts, but the latter answer is interesting. From my point of view it’d be nice to interchange a day/night scope and a PMII between my 2 rifles.

Putting sell them in the UK.

I use them on a Sako 85 to swap between a day scope and NV. Has worked well for years and hundreds of swaps.

The standard optilocks on a 75 gives perfect repeatability every time as I’ve extensively tested & proved to my satisfaction. There was no difference between a normal group & one where the scope was removed & refitted between each shot, both starting with a clean barrel & cold bore.

When I had a Sako 75 I took a scope in Optilocks off for some reason and put it back on, same torque on the dovetail clamps and zero was the same.

I'm not a fan of Optilocks but in this case as long as they were set up properly the first time the repeated accuracy was pretty acceptable.

Thanks for the message they might well be the best option.
In your experience do the hold zero perfect? Have you ever had it move on you?

Never moved and they are swapped once or twice a week. Just make sure they are compatible with the Sako 75 as I am using them on the Sako 85.

Thats great thanks for the help. I’ll look into it and get a set ordered if they work with the 75.

Hello

Just one more question.
What calibre rifle do you have these on? I shoot a .270 and was wondering how does the recoil affect them?

Thanks

6.5 and .308. The way they QR though means that once they are connected I would think even a massive elephant gun recoil would effect the QR side of things. The mounts into the receiver work the same way as optilocks and they are rated for any calibre that Sako make.

Great news.
I will order a set of basses and 2 set of rings tomorrow.
Thanks again for the help👍🏻

As long as the screws that hold the bases to the rings are tight then bog standard Optilocks make great QD mounts.
Seen a few people saying that and I will be sure to keep it in mind.
I just like the idea of the lever design and not having to carry a Allen key 😂

I think it will be hard to find QD rings with levers without using a rail. A lot of people love rails but, in my experience, they always add height and inevitably add potential variables.

Hello,

I use these bases and QD rings (leupold) on all my rifles from 6.5 prc and 6.5x68 with no problems at all, fitted on Sako 75 and tikka t3x actions

Removed scopes all the time and return to zero within half an inch from zero on worst case zero checks in my experience to date.

kind regards
