Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but anyone plagued by flies just now could do a lot worse than buy a couple of Red Top fly traps! We generally suffer from them as we're out in the country, and have a lot of trees & hedges nearby. A few days after hanging them up though, and they're absolutely packed with the filthy vermin!!! Word of warning though? Don't sniff them!!! :eek:

I keep the fly's out of our living room by putting a bucket of sh#t in the kitchen

I don't know if it's a myth that doesn't hold up, but one thing doing the rounds at the moment is to hang a plastic bag by the back door (or wherever they are getting in) with some water in it and some pennies in the bottom. The theory is that flies think it's bees/wasps and steer clear.
