Reloading Equipment Setup - Costs

There's a free guide for you. If you look around the Henry Krank site, there is an article comparing costs of factory to reloaded ammo. Basically, you can buy quality items second-hand. Google RFDs near me and you may find dealers who trade from home who may have second-hand gear. I wasted seven years dry tumbling cases so I would recommend wet tumbling from the start.

I set my self up reloading on a budget to see the financial benefits along with the Improved accuracy gains.

I bought a used press, beam scales, and all the other essential nick naks to get me out of the starting blocks, I got his for under £200 and once I had powder and primers I can reload my .223 for half the price of factory ammo........it paid for itself in the first year easily! And now I load for all three of my centerfires and enjoy the savings along with the accuracy gains

I shoot far too much, it is slowly bankrupting me but what a great way to get poorer. I am thinking about reloading as my theory is thus:

1. Buy old equipment second hand, it generally retains value as, unlike electronics, there are very few advancements.
2. Consumables will be lower cost than factory.
3. Being in control of my supply will mean less rezeroing due to cartridge supply variance.
4. I will save some money over the next 40 years.

My questions to complete my business case:

A. Has anyone evaluated the cost of consumables per round?
B. What is the basic equipment needed?
1 Yes but the seller often wants you to pay for tools you never will use.
2 Yes if you stick the the first components what works and dont try other things because its interesting and fun. You reuse the expensive case several times.
3 You well have too rezero then you have changed components, as if your supplyer have changed brands of bullets or powder.
4 That is what you tell your wife you will probably spend the same on your hobby in total.

A yes
B A reloading press kit, a tool set for every cartridge you plan to reload for and a case holder.
