I haven't changed the zero from my home loads that's why there generally higher
Me and my mates must be very lucky then. And if you look into the subject a bit you will find that I am right, it is a fairly well known fact in the precision rifle circuit.I don't think so.
I have had rifles in different bores, different factory makes and aftermarket bespoke built guns from.22.--700 and each and everyone shot perfect after 5-6 rounds.
Ok some would shoot well after cleaning, but never at their best.
Some like my current 375AI will shoot perfect groups from its 4th shot after cleaning to almost 100 shots before needing cleaned. Others like my BSA with Sassen barrel in 7mm needs cleaning every 30 shots and shoots perfect from second shot.
Does Fuller's article not require an actual group (i.e. 10 or more shots) for analysis. The latest group on this thread seems to me to be an 11-round group shot on two targets, and is about 2". Not marvellous, but as Alan has, I too have seen worse. The Average POI of the large group and the two on the other target look similar, so going by the Fuller group diagnosis, maybe that is the group you, your rifle with that ammo is capable of.
Save his pain and do somthing for me please:Wonder if jimbo would like some targets for promotional purposes![]()
No I removed the mod to speed up cooling then refittedAm I missing something? Second target is a two shot touching group shot without the mod and the only group you’ve shot without the mod?
I’d be shooting some more groups without the mod to find out if they were two lucky shots or whether the mod is causing accuracy to drop off.
The first shot was top left .a dirty barrel is not my thing but trying different scenarios as trying to eliminate if the flyer was instigated by a just been cleaned barrelSave his pain and do somthing for me please:
Print the below dot of doom free SD target and place at 100 yards. Then fire from any set-up you like, three shots from the your rifle as it arrives at the firing point. No warming shots etc. and from a dirty barrel if that's your thing.
Then post on here indicating the first shot.![]()
🎯 The Famous SD Zeroing Targets
I've given them a sprucing up with new logo and text. The original files were dated from before the use of "weapon" became a little bit non-pc! ;) Edit: I've added @Apache's "Black Dot of Doom" and @Alantoo target too.www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk

No bipod attached but stock resting on bag"All taken from a bench" using a bipod?

Have you got somebody else to shoot the rifle for you yet?
I wouldn't dream of calling into question your marksmanship but as another SD member very astutely observed, are you confident in ruling out the possibility "it is you that needs a chance to ‘warm up’ and not the rifle"?The first shot was top left .a dirty barrel is not my thing but trying different scenarios as trying to eliminate if the flyer was instigated by a just been cleaned barrel
Next two were in clover leaf fourth was in cloverleaf. Then they started to open up as barrel was getting hot
Thanks
And this just demonstrates the ever expanding variables when not actually being the nut behind the rifle in question. By which I mean did your mate first try a group with just the addition of a cheek peice for improved head to scope alignment before adjusting the parallex?Has any one mentioned parallax? I had a mate with a 2" average at 100, put a cheek piece on, altered the parallax and it went down by over half.
