Funny that. I have a 260rem on order with a custom builder in England.
He has told me that about half the orders he has for stalking rifles (as opposed to tactical or target style rifles which are mostly 6.5x47 Lapua) are for 260rem at the minute.
If Remington particularly, but rifle builders in general, offered a few decent quality rifles, with factory ammo in a few bullet weights, this round would be a real winner.
As long as there is 243 brass and 6.5mm bullets, I'll be able to keep mine fed.
