Reprofiling

Gents, a couple of questions to the knowledgeable...
Can you go from varmint to approx. heavy sporter/bull sporter?
Do you need a reproof?
How expensive is it? Is it worthwhile financially?
Is there a real risk of loosing accuracy and would you ever need to touch the chamber during the process?

You mean by removing metal on the original barrel. Yes, needs re-proofing as you are weakening the area that is under pressure.
Change to a new barrel, yes also needs proofing.
I would not risk turning down a factory hammer forged barrel. A button rifled barrel should be ok to turn down.
